Ways My Counselling & Coaching Services can support you
Emotional Counselling
Our emotions exist as a way for you to organise and respond to the experiences, memories, hopes and fears. Emotions are beautiful and natural, part of what gives us our distinctive personality and character. Our emotions are beneficial when working in a balanced relationship with our thoughts and behaviours. However, there can be experiences and events which influence our emotions to take control of all of the parts of our life. Emotions such as fear, anger, stress, sadness, anxiety, bitterness and shame are quite common in taking control over our thoughts and actions. Working through a counselling process can help you to deal with overwhelming emotions, accepting their existence, and returning them to their place of balance.
Mental Health Counselling
Our thoughts, like your emotions are at their best when in balance with feelings and behaviours. Our thoughts help us to dictate our perspective on life, how we see ourselves and others, and what we place as important and valuable. Our thoughts when informed by experiences help us to predict how we may respond to a potential reoccurring situation. At times our thoughts can become intrusive, filling our days with unhelpful ideas and feelings. Intrusive, repetitive and overwhelming thoughts can become obsessive, destructive, unrealistic and unhelpful, causing us to get stuck in unhealthy behaviours and altering life choices. Counselling can provide methods to view your thoughts through an objective and realistic lens, allowing your values to control your thoughts, not your circumstances.
Spiritual Counselling
Many people are re-examining the concept of spirituality. That which is greater than themselves. For some, spirituality is tied to a traditional or new religion, for others it is seeking the ways of the unseen aspects of the universe. Embracing a spirituality can help to bring a greater meaning to life, beyond existence and greater than the material world we can connect with our senses. Coaching through a spiritual friend can provide a mentor to the spiritual journey. Of deep importance is the spiritual companion who can walk with those who still seek a spiritual connection but have suffered abuse and controlling relationships within organised religion. Counselling can provide pathways to return on your spiritual journey whilst working through the pain and trauma caused.
Life Goals
What are your goals in life? Where do you want to be in 5 years? Who can keep you on track with what iss important in your life, your career and your relationships. Coaching through Your Life Journey can provide you with the tools and support to keep you focussed on your strengths and pointed in the right direction to live out and achieve your goals.
Life Challenges
Life has challenges. Relationships, circumstances and even our own selves can put us in places which are distressing, unstable, confronting and painful. Challenges can also be beneficial, providing deep insights with greater opportunities and possibilities. How do you prepare for and manage these challenges? How you will choose to respond to these trials and traumatic events? Counselling seeks to provide a safe space for you to process horrific events, recognising every individual responds in their own time and their own ways. Counselling also prepares you for growth through these challenges, strengthening your own resilience and means of support.
Life Meaning
Why do we exist? It’s a question often asked by people from academics to those in the cafe. When determining our life purpose and meaning we can ask if that meaning is given to us by our political alliances, religious affiliations, imposed by Governments or by trying to fit in with peers and community expectations. At times in our life we can face a crisis, when those meanings and purpose are being challenged, when those we’ve trusted have betrayed our beliefs, when evidence and other factors tests the integrity of our way of life. This vulnerability can leave us in conflict, anxious for what we’ve lost, directionless and helpless. Counselling allows you to explore your experiences and to collaboratively enter a process of rediscovery of new meanings or altered purposes.

Meet Noel Payne – Counsellor and Life Coach
Before choosing a career pathway in the Counselling & Coaching Services space, I had 35 years of experience in the Creative Industries and remain working in the Arts and Entertainment sector. I am drawn to the stories that we share. the stories that are common to our society and those stories that are kept in the privacy of individual lives. Counselling builds on my years of hearing and interpreting these stories in the Arts to now focus on what these stories mean to those who are journeying through life’s struggles and questions.
